CAD & CAS

Computer-aided design & styling (CAD & CAS) describes the virtual development process in design.



In CAS, objects are modelled in 3D software on the basis of sketches (renderings), verbal information or tactile data (point cloud).

The CAS process is definitely upfront of the CAD process and therefore has the potential to provide advantages when combined with CAE simulation and AI.
